Drug De-Addiction  Rehabilitation Service Centre

15 Bedded Drug De–addiction Rehabilitation center is established by PASS in Chittoor.

It is been implemented with the support of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India.

The main objective of the program is to provide Rehabilitative preventive and curative residential treatment services for Drug and Alcohol addicts in Chittoor, A.P. and covering all the surrounding mandals and communities. The aim of the Government to introduce this program is to reduce the demand in the country.

The aim of DDAC is to make the client drug–free and also improve the client’s quality of life by providing support for optimizing functioning in various areas of life – Whole person recovery.

To assess and screen substance users PASS has established Out reach and Drop in center (ODIC), Peer Education (CLPI) and Integrated Rehabilitation center for addicts (IRCA). The aim of these services  is to reach out to the target population, motivate and help them to seek treatment, reduce and remove stigma and discrimination towards them. This DDAC center enforced the outreach services through peer education, mapping, awareness, referrals, network meetings with stakeholders, sensitization and counseling services to the targeted communities by using IEC material and identified the substance users, drug abusers and referred to the center for screening, OP, treatment and rehabilitation services.

The qualified, experienced, professionals and trained motivated staff are delivering the support services provided  to the clients are Medical assessment and provided medical care and treatment therapies, Psychosocial assessment and provided individual, group and family counseling.  psycho-social intervention is carried out for vocational trainings, resolving family issues, Relapse prevention. Every day training sessions are organized on different issues and their solutions, yoga, meditation, indoor games. Rehabilitation processed with after care and follow up through home visits and mobile contact. Referrals are done to the hospitals for chronic illness, legal services, leverages for welfare benefits. success stories are recorded and documented and shared during the sessions. Confidentiality is maintained at the center. These services provided at the DDAC center are catering to the needs, issues of the substance users and addicts of the marginalized community and are sustained them with Whole person recovery by attaining holistic well-being of every client and their families. All these support services are implemented as per the prescribed minimum standards of the project guidelines.
